Program Description
The ThinkPad Foundation provides comprehensive, evidence-based outpatient (OP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) substance use disorder treatment services in the Sacramento region. Our mission is to empower individuals affected by addiction with the tools, clinical support, and community connections necessary to achieve sustained recovery and long-term stability. Our model of care emphasizes clinical excellence, accessibility, cultural responsiveness, and measurable impact.
Our program is grounded in research-supported treatment approaches and best practices in substance use disorder care. Services are delivered through both individual and group counseling and incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), relapse prevention strategies, and trauma-informed care. Our clinical staff are trained and certified in these modalities and deliver services in a flexible, person-centered manner that responds to each participant's unique needs and stage of recovery.
The ThinkPad Foundation is committed to ensuring that access to treatment is not limited by income, background, behavioral health status, or legal history. We focus intentionally on serving underserved and high-risk populations, including individuals impacted by the criminal justice system, individuals at risk of homelessness, and community members with limited access to healthcare and social services. Our services are designed to be low-barrier, inclusive, and trauma-informed, offering walk-in assessments, flexible scheduling, and close coordination with community reintegration programs, shelters, and community-based providers.
We also recognize the high prevalence of co-occurring mental health conditions among individuals with substance use disorders. To address these needs, we integrate behavioral health screening, care coordination, and referral into our service model. Clients presenting with mild to moderate mental health symptoms are supported through collaboration with licensed clinicians and coordinated referrals to partner behavioral health agencies when higher levels of psychiatric care are indicated.
